Coastal Karnataka region is known for education, strong cultural environment and also several industries. The region has several STEP/Incubators supported by departments of central and state governments. Considering several initiatives by the union government, namely, Atmanirbhar Bharat, New Education Policy, Science, Technology and Innovation Policy), National Innovation and Startup Policy the above virtual meet has been planned.
Lt Gen M D Venkatesh, VC, MAHE said there is a need to develop the region as an emerging hub for innovation and entrepreneurship in the global map. Broad objectives of the meet is to strengthen entrepreneurial ecosystem of the region, industry-institute interaction, networking at regional level, organising annual entrepreneurship/tech summits, communication between stakeholders and innovation and entrepreneurship developments.
Vice-chancellors of regional universities, director-NITK, chairman-CII Mangaluru chapter, representatives from various departments of central and state governments, President-ISBA, co-founders of leading companies of the region and CEOs of incubators of the region will be the panellists. The National Science and Technology Entrepreneurship Board, department of science and technology and other agencies have supported this programme.
