The Buckingham Palace was caught in a state of frenzy when Prince Andrew was accused of trafficking ties that also highlighted his association with the late sex offender, Jefferey Epstein.
In conversation with BBC reporter Emily Maitlis, the Duke of York expressed his concerns about letting down the royal family and said, “That’s the bit that… as it were, I kick myself for on a daily basis because it was not something that was becoming of a member of the royal family and we try and uphold the highest standards and practices and I let the side down, simple as that.”
However, while the motive of giving the interview was to defend the accusations, Prince Andrew went on to say more about how his friendship with Epstein was justifiable. He said, “The people that I met and the opportunities that I was given to learn, either by him or because of him, were actually very useful.”
