According to a recent study published in preprint form on medRxiv, about 58% of long COVID patients reported signs of brain fog or mental confusion, making it a significant condition in the list of common long COVID symptoms.
COVID survivors who have suffered with brain fog explain how it is difficult to articulate one’s thoughts and expressions. According to them, they must think harder rather than being spontaneous about what they want to say or convey. Some have also complained of having trouble with speech or talking fluently.
While it’s known, brain fog isn’t a medical condition but the inability to think or focus on a particular thing.
In a recent article, Gwyneth Paltrow, Hollywood actress and founder of Goop, reveals that she suffered with COVID-19 and is still tackling it’s lingering effects.
She wrote, “In January, I had some tests done that showed really high levels of inflammation in my body.” “So I turned to one of the smartest experts I know in this space, the functional medicine practitioner Dr. Will Cole. After he saw all my labs, he explained that this was a case where the road to healing was going to be longer than usual,” she added.
The actress said that her long Covid experience included “brain fog” and “long-tail fatigue”.
